This Tudor-style home a few minutes from our Banta Ave office needed more than another layer of shingles — the old roof was at the end of its life, and layering over it would have hidden whatever the years had done to the wood underneath. We recommended what we always recommend in that situation: a full tear-off, so the decking gets inspected in daylight instead of covered up.

Tear-off day is where our process shows. The landscaping and walls were tarped before the first shingle came off, and debris went straight onto tarps and into the trailer — not the flower beds. With the roof stripped, sections of decking needed replacement, so new plywood went down where the old boards had given up.
